I can't even talk. I can't fathom it.
HOW COULD I LEAVE OUT THE SINGLE MOST IMPORTANT PIECE OF BABY GEAR I OWN??
I feel ashamed. I honestly do NOT know what I would do without this piece of "equipment". My life would be drastically harder. My back would be sorer, my baby fussier... I don't know... I can't fathom my life without it!
The Mei Tai(Tei). Oh... how my love for you is strong.
Now, I linked to the Babies R Us page which has been out of stock since before Thanskgiving. My sister in law has one of these and I love it. It's just my style. However, you can google them and find tons of other IN stock items. I just listed this link because it was quick and easy.
I love my Mai Tai. I've tried Pouch slings and while I can wear them, I don't either Keevia or I are very comfortable for very long. I've worn Keevs in a home made mei tai since her third day of life. She LOVES it. I call it the sleep machine. She's close to me, I don't have to worry about people sticking their hands in her face because her face is sandwiched between my boobs, she's always warm...
I'll post pictures soon of myself in Wal-mart with Keevia in it. Seriously, everytime I go to wal-mart, or the mall, or ANYWHERE, I have my mei tei and Keevs is in it.
Like I said, I cannot believe that I forgot to add the single product I could NOT live without. These can be pricey, but if you're crafty at all, you can make one. If you're not, my Mom sells them for $20-25. It's a win-win really!!
HIGHLY, HIGHLY recommend!

LOL
ReplyDeleteOkay I actually read your last post and thought "No baby carrier on this list??"
I haven't tried a Mei Tai but I did a pouch sling with Miles and loved it. I have a Sleepy Wrap for the newbie and someone is getting me a Moby. I'm pretty sure that'll be my carrier of choice this time around.
The only thing that worries me about a Mei Tai is that it would hurt my shoulders/neck like the commercial front carriers do. I don't see what about the design makes it so that it wouldn't hurt like the others...Sell me.
Okay, I'm going to address everything in your comment:
ReplyDelete1. I'm so happy about McFatty Monday, I love it. I track my weight for WW (I'm a slave to it) on Mondays so I know what I weigh. Its embarrassing as heck to track my weight on my blog (considering I was 170 pounds this time last year...but honestly who wasn't thinner last year...) but I do it...because I have big brass cahonies.
I got in to freelancing via www.elance.com. Its a giant freelance website where you submit proposals and hopefully get awarded articles. I've been awarded 35 articles since I started and they pay me pretty well, my going rate isn't that high but its something to supplement my income and contribute to my vices.
I LOVE wordpress, its so sleek and nice..and just wonderful. I just get on and crank out a blog (at work usually) and it makes me happy...and we all do things to make us happy.
Did I leave anything out? I think I got it, I'm going to go watch Greys and freelance a bit. I miss you!
